Set Up Google Classroom: Class Codes

  • Seating Request and Student Class ID number. Student Class ID and seating chart are done in numerical order. Same as computer number for computer lab.

Usernames and passwords:

Username = your computer login information

  • Example: VET1234
  • Your login is normally the first 3 or 4 letters of your last name followed by a sequence of numbers. When creating your username for sites used in this class, always use your login for all our systems so you do not forget these

Passwords: for all accounts use the same password so you will not forget it. Alos, the instructor can than assist you. When creating your password, you must do the following:

  • Your lunch code, followed by your fiirst middle and last name inititials with your first initial capitalized. This is then followed by an asterick.
  • Example: My name is Cassie M Vetter and my lunch code is 12345
  • by using this same password for all our sites you will never forget it.

Shadowbox Class Project Directions For students that are missing from Class: you were already in groups. You can do the same business as your group. You can you the same ideas or add your own. But you will do the remainder of the presentation on your own. Each of you wil:

  1. Complete the PowerPoint Slides to pitch your design idea (see the rubric). Remember your audience is the business owner that you are doing your window display for. You need to pitch what your design ideas are, how much it will cost, and include a mock up of what it will look like.
  2. Review your Rubric and Directions for what must be in the presenation.
  3. Create a shadow box mock up of your display like the examples shown in class. Click for picture of sample:
  4. Present your pitch and record your presentation. It needs to be a recording as if you are in the front of the room presenting live. Your video presentation must show you presenting the display, it must show you in the background, and it must show your mock up as you describe it.
  5. Attach a phote of your shadow box and the video recrording to the google classroom assignment

Hand in Virtual Scavenger Hunt Assignment : This was due on Monday and should be done. This is your hand in procedures:

  • If you are in class and handed this in, please mark as done in google classrom
  • If you are out and completed with a group member that is in class and he/she submitted this assignment for you, mark this as done in google classroom
  • If you are out and completed the scavenger hunt, complete the following and attach it to hand in.
    1. Create a document with all your photos in it in order of the questions on the hand out.
    2. Label each photo with the type of display it represents and which store you got this from. This can be done in google slides, google docs.
    3. Attach it to this assignment and Turn it in

  • Retaught how to do determine Markup amount (aka gross profit), profit margin, and calculating retail price.
  • Handed out the Printed Profit Margin Practice sheet. This is the same as the google classroom assignment from Wednesday, Profit Margin Practice. Printed and distributed in class for students to do a retake if they chose to. Which ever score is higher will be used for score.

  • Create Activity: Create an activity that can be played engaged in virtually - keep in mind students most likely do not have computers/phones for every student. Also students can not work in a group that is too close. They could be paired without moving desks to discuss and come up with answer in the 4 desks around them.
  • Contact Teacher: If working in class with a group of 3 - Select a Teacher and email or contact him/her and ask:
    • Can you present virtually in the class for 20 - 30 min activity
    • Do all students have a device to partcipate in the activity
    • If so, what type of device
    • Ask how many students they have in class.
    Present to class: You will present your presentation and play the game/activity with the students in our Management class. Each student in my class has their own computers and there are 21 students needed for the activity.

Things to consier:

  • If no devices, can you make copies and send them via the Pony for the teacher, or does he/she want to make the copies?
  • Is there a treat that goes with the activity for participation and needs to be coordinated with the teacher, ponied, and distributed by the teache

Working From Home with inclass group: If working from home but part of in-class group details above but you must log in. If you log in by google meets at class time, and share the google docs with your group you can work with your group from home. You must clock in with your instructor for class at 11:50 on google meets. This link is on our main page for Google Classroom.. Your instructor will assign a google class assignment to you and at the end of the hour, you will do a quick summary of what you contributed to the group today.

1. Handed out the note packet for this unit Business Communications. If you are working from home, the link is below. It can be printed, or you can open the file and type your notes. Be sure to save the electronic version on your google drive to be printed and handed in or electronically handed in.

2. Go to google classroom and complete the Ed Puzzle assignment. You must watch the video, take notes from the video on page 1 - 2 of the note packet and answer the questions in the video. The video is graded, do not just guess.
